A-ha singer Morten Harket wins the 'Green Music Award'Posted on 29/08/12
A-ha frontman Morten Harket will receive the Green Music Award at the Clean Tech Media Awards in Berlin on September 7th. The award is being given for the first time, to a musician or entertainer, "whose outstanding environmental activism improve their fans' and the public's awareness". The award is the result of years of activism for electro-mobility, renewable energy and the rainforest, as well as the nature-bound lifestyle of the singer.
Harket has been active in the environmental protection organization Bellona Foundation for over 25 years and transferred, along with founder and current president of the foundation, Frederic Hauge, the first electric vehicle, a Fiat Panda, to his homeland of Norway. Morten Harket was one of the first activists for the spread of electro-mobility.
Says Morten Harket: "As public personality, I have the opportunity to direct attention to environmental themes and promote environmental consciousness. The 'Green Music Award' is a medium for this and I am very honored to receive it."
During the ceremony Morten Harket will also give the public a taste of his latest excellent album "Out Of My Hands" ( iTunes (with extra track), Amazon US, Amazon UK and Amazon DE). Also present will be Sandra, known through her international hit "Maria Magdalena".
And here's the singer most men fell in love with, especially because of the cute cheeks and ditto eyes. Exactly the same reason Why Morten Harket is so popular with women by the way.
