Alan Wilder's Mercedes up for grabsPosted on 11/07/13
If you are a car fanatic and a Depeche Mode annex Recoil fan, then there's a deal waiting for you. Alan Wilder is selling his Mercedes 300SL convertible sports car. And unlike many other artists that go to a specialized old car exchange site for these kind of things, Wilder is first touching base with his fan base to see if people are interested. Full specs can be seen right here.
For the fetishists out there, this is the very car from which Alan Wilder witnessed the plane crash which inspired "Black Box" from Recoil's "Liquid" album. It also featured in the promotional photos for the "subHuman" album campaign as you can see above. Says Wilder: "I shall be sad to see it go but, in the spirit of simplifying my life, I'm ready to pass it on to somebody who will really appreciate and look after it. Along with its career connections, that is why it is being advertised here at the Recoil outlets, rather than at any old car exchange site. I'd love for a fan to get the first chance to own it."
If interested, mail firstname.lastname@example.org with an offer.
