Kilmarth releases three-track single ‘Avant de céder…’ as prelude to upcoming album

This single slipped our radar but is more than worth announcing. A few weeks ago the Belgian electronic project Kilmarth released “Avant de céder…“, a three-track instrumental digital single combining glitch, dark minimal, and experimental electronic textures. Written, produced, and mixed by Cedric Wattergniaux, the release is available on Bandcamp.
The three tracks are a first glimpse of ayet unnamed forthcoming album. Note that the third track is a reimagined version of an earlier Kilmarth piece.
Four months ago, in January 2026, Wattergniaux released the concept album “Cherophobia” through Adventurous Music, the Leipzig-based micro-label focused on experimental electronic works. That nine-track album explored the fear of happiness, and featured seven guest vocalists including Deranged Psyche, Mad Mac, Eeerisei, Silly Shadow, Heri B., Natasha Moreno, and Clémence Legrand.
About Kilmarth
Kilmarth is a Belgian electronic solo project founded in 2007 by composer, producer, and French teacher Cédric Wattergniaux. The project name references Kilmarth, the Cornish house at the centre of Daphne du Maurier’s novel The House on the Strand.
The project debuted in 2018 with the CD mini-album “Catharsis”. In 2021, Wattergniaux issued the EP “Derrière Le Miroir”, which pushed into minimal-electro and cinematic territory and later produced the video-focused single “M-Fia41”. A Side-Line interview from 2018, “Music Is A Legal Drug That Has The Immense Power To Make Us Escape”, offers further background on the project’s origins.
In 2022, he released the two-track single “Baryum”, introducing a darker post-industrial ambient angle. The 2023 mini-album “Better Days” introduced a singer for the first time in the project’s history.
January 2024 saw the release of “Sociological Veranda”, Wattergniaux’s first full-length IDM album, combining dark electro, glitch, ambient, drum and bass, and cinematic elements across its tracklist. That same year, the single “Vergessen” appeared with the jazz-infused B-side “ToExposeTheTruth”. In November 2024, the EP “My Son of The Moon” followed.
In early 2025, Kilmarth collaborated with D-Fried on the album “Micrometeoritic Flowerpot”. The “Cherophobia” concept album for Adventurous Music arrived in January 2026. “Avant de céder…” followed two months later and is available on Kilmarth’s Bandcamp page.
