Side-Line releases ‘The Odin Files’ and ‘The Freya Files’ Ukraine charity compilations
Side-Line releases ‘The Odin Files,’ a 55-track Ukraine charity compilation and companion to ‘The Freya Files.’ Both are free via Bandcamp.

Side-Line has releasedthe free charity compilations “The Odin Files” and “The Freya Files” on Bandcamp. “The Odin Files”‘ holds 55 tracks, “The Freya Files” 37 tracks and offer darkwave, EBM, industrial and electro with funds being raised for humanitarian and frontline aid in Ukraine. Both compilations are digital, name-your-price releases: download them for free, or pay more and send the difference straight to Ukraine.
The two-part project was compiled, and its artwork made, by Bernard Van Isacker across 2025 and 2026. Side-Line describes the road to release directly on the Bandcamp page: “legal obstacles, political pressure we never expected to encounter in 2026, failed hard drives, lost files, production delays, and repeated setbacks that threatened to stop it from ever reaching the public.” Both volumes made it out despite that.

Why the name-your-price download is worth more than free
Both “The Odin Files” and “The Freya Files” are available as name-your-price downloads: the minimum is set at zero, so nobody is turned away, but every payment above that minimum goes toward humanitarian and frontline aid efforts in Ukraine. Ninety-two tracks across the two volumes are free to stream and download right now on Bandcamp; setting a price above zero when checking out is the direct way to turn a download into support.

About the United series
Side-Line’s Ukraine-focused compilation work began on 28 March 2022 with Electronic Resistance, a 55-track darkwave and post-punk compilation from the Ukrainian underground. A second volume, Electronic Resistance – Reconstruction, followed on 5 December 2022 with 58 tracks, alongside the Ukraina charity single featuring remixes by Aesthetische, Kant Kino, Cubic and Acylum. On 1 September 2023, Side-Line released Electronic Bodies, an 88-track EBM charity compilation; The Cure frontman Robert Smith shared it on social media the following April, pushing it back into the Bandcamp charts.
“The Freya Files” and “The Odin Files” continue that run. Compiled by Bernard Van Isacker, split by gender across the two volumes and drawn from the darkwave, EBM, industrial and electro underground, the pair closes out the United series at 92 tracks combined, all proceeds directed to humanitarian and frontline aid in Ukraine.
Chief editor of Side-Line – which basically means I spend my days wading through a relentless flood of press releases from labels, artists, DJs, and zealous correspondents. My job? Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Outside the news filter bubble, I’m all in for quality sushi and helping raise funds for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against the modern-day axis of evil. Besides music I’m also an SEO and AI content flow specialist and have an interest in everything finance from stocks to crypto. There is music in everything!
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
