Neon Insect – Liberty Flowers (Digital/CD/Cassette Album – Neon Insect)
Neon Insect is the musical alter ego of Nils Sinatsch. Having already released several works, he returns with a continuation of the dystopian world he previously developed. Musically, the sound is dark, blending atmospheric Dark-Electro with Industrial-Pop. The production feels bombastic, yet features dream-like strings that soften the edges. The vocals, on the other hand, are harsh and devilish. Toward the end of the album, there are even hints of Dub-like elements. This new work is varied, making it both engaging and easy to listen to. About Neon Insect
Neon Insect is the solo project of Nils Sinatsch, a musician and producer based in Hanover, Germany. He fuses industrial, electronica and cyberpunk elements into concept albums with dark, dystopian themes set in a fictional, Orwellian state.
After the album “Abatron”, the album “Glitches” arrived in February 2018, featuring Claus Larsen (Leaether Strip) on the track “L.L.t.Q.”. The full-length “New Moscow Underground” introduced the New Moscow narrative, an alternative reality where the Cold War went hot, and was followed by the album “Love, Sex & Robots” and the singles “Rewired” (2023) and “There Is Beauty In Noise” (2024).
“Liberty Flowers”, released in 2024 as a digital, CD and cassette album, continues that dystopian world and is the album reviewed here.
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
