Prague electronic/synth-pop act Lakeside X released the single “Nightrider” on 17 July 2026, paired with an official video shot in Los Angeles, California.
‘Nightrider’ follows the ‘Fractured’ vinyl EP campaign
“Nightrider” is the opening track of Lakeside X’s debut vinyl EP, “Fractured”, which the band pressed in a strictly limited run and made available for the first time at their headline show at Cargo Gallery in Prague on 12 June 2026. With this release, “Nightrider” now also arrives as a standalone digital single, backed by the video shot on location in Los Angeles. It follows “Factory Flowers“, the single that opened this campaign in March 2026, as the latest chapter of new material from the band.
About Lakeside X
Lakeside X are an alternative electronic and synth-pop act from Prague, Czech Republic, led by vocalist and songwriter Janne Marvannen. The project began in the 1990s under the name Dark Ages before regrouping in 2004 with Marvannen, keyboardist Robert Broj and keyboardist Jiří Fencl.
That year the band recorded a cover of “Higher Love” for the Czech Depeche Mode tribute compilation “Some Great Celebration”, and X Production issued the debut album “Sunrise” in December 2004. Drummer Igor Dvorský and guitarist Vít Hájek joined in 2005, and the band adopted the Lakeside X name. “Exit:NowHere” followed on X Production in 2007, and “City Of Red Lights” arrived in 2010 with a more synthesizer-based sound; around this period the band played the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and supported IAMX and Covenant in the Czech Republic.
After a hiatus beginning in 2014, Lakeside X returned with “Fire In The Sky” in December 2021, produced by Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Front 242 collaborator). The album “Love Disappears” followed on Musicraft in 2022, preceded by the singles “Rising” and “Lifeline”, with “Rising” and the later single “Time Has Come” reaching the top ten of the German Alternative Charts. On 30 July 2023, Depeche Mode selected Lakeside X to open their Prague show in front of more than 40,000 people, as reported by Side-Line at the time. In 2025 the band toured Europe alongside Empathy Test, De/Vision and Christian Eigner, playing Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig among other festival dates.
In March 2026, Lakeside X released “Factory Flowers“, their first new single in three years and the start of the campaign leading to the “Fractured” vinyl EP, which the band made available exclusively at their 12 June 2026 Cargo Gallery show in Prague. “Nightrider”, the EP’s opening track, now follows as a standalone digital single with its own video shot in Los Angeles.
Current lineup: Janne Marvannen (vocals, songwriting), Robert Broj (keyboards), Igor Dvorský (drums).

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
