The Division Men unveil ‘San Saba’ ahead of new album ‘Hymns and Fiery Dances’
The Division Men
Texas-based acoustic duo The Division Men have announced the release of their new album “Hymns and Fiery Dances”, scheduled for August 22 via Motor Music in LP, CD, and digital formats. The release includes the new track “San Saba”, featuring Peter Hayes and Leah Shapiro of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and percussionist Fredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Gogol Bordello).
A video for the track is available now and premieres today on Side-Line.

About The Division Men
The Division Men is an acoustic duo formed in 2008 in Berlin by J. Spencer Portillo and Caroline Rippy Portillo. Now based in El Paso, Texas, their music blends atmospheric folk with dark romantic undertones.
Caroline Rippy Portillo, born in San Antonio, previously played bass for Tito & Tarantula between 2007 and 2012. J. Spencer Portillo, originally from Los Angeles but raised in Texas, draws lyrical inspiration from life on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Their 2020 release “Niños Del Sol” featured Rafael Gayol (Leonard Cohen), Steven Hufsteter (The Quick, Tito & Tarantula), Jay Reynolds, and others.
Chief editor of Side-Line – which basically means I spend my days wading through a relentless flood of press releases from labels, artists, DJs, and zealous correspondents. My job?
