Electro-industrial act Guro has released its latest single, “BreathPlay“, via all major digital platforms including Bandcamp and Spotify.
The track explores themes of power, control, and surrender within intimate and psychological spaces. According to the band, “’BreathPlay’ is about power and surrender — the kind that lives in intimacy, control, and survival. It digs into the space where vulnerability becomes its own kind of strength.”
The single was written during “a period of physical and mental exhaustion”, which directly shaped its structure and atmosphere. Guro says that the song “came together fast, almost all at once — like something that had been waiting just under the surface.” They describe the result as “hypnotic, driving, and sharp” with “a kind of quiet collapse” underpinning the rhythm. Musically, “BreathPlay” marks one of the most dance-oriented tracks in Guro’s catalog to date.
About Guro
Guro is a U.S.-based electro-industrial duo formed in 2022 by Teddy and Bob (Rabbit) following a spontaneous encounter at a Midwest show. Their name draws from ero guro, a Japanese aesthetic combining the erotic and grotesque.
The duo’s influences include early industrial pioneers and EBM.
