“Tau Zero” continues Thaneco’s work in cosmic, sequencer-driven electronic music, the style associated with the Berlin school and space ambient. Cyclical Dreams, the Buenos Aires label that issued the album, focuses on Berlin school, ambient, soundscape, space music and drone.

The album is available on all digital platforms and through the label’s Bandcamp page, with a CD edition offered through Cyclical Dreams. A video is also streaming on YouTube.

About Thaneco

Thaneco is the project of Thanos Oikonomopoulos, a keyboardist and producer of electronic space ambient and Berlin school music based in Patras, Greece. His music draws on cosmic and sequencer-based electronics in the tradition of the Berlin school, and he has cited the soundtracks of 1970s and 1980s cinema among his reference points.

Oikonomopoulos founded Thaneco Records, a net label for electronic space ambient, cinematic, experimental and Berlin school music, and also records under the alias Thomas Ikon. He has released widely across the ambient and Berlin school scene, including collaborations issued with the Romerium project. “Tau Zero” is his latest release and his entry in the Cyclical Dreams catalogue, available on digital platforms and CD.

Since you’re here

we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
