Genre/Influences: Industrial-techno, tribal-techno, IDM.

Background/Info: Here comes the fifth opus from Armando Alibrandi aka Supersimmetria. It also is the artist’s third album released by Hands. The Berliner (Germany) based producer tried to transform the idea of ‘the core of life, the atoms of which everything is composed’ into music.

Content: Supersimmetria has always composed music mixing electronics, industrial and techno. It’s not that different for the new songs, but I get the impression he even explores wider fields leading him to tribal-industrial and techno music. Some of these cuts even remind me of Juno Reactor, but adapted into an industrial format. The songs are sophisticated and covered with a dark and sometimes hostile sphere.

+ + + : Supersimmetria is a project I really like. And even if I’d expected a bit more out of the previous work (cf. “Materia”) I’ve never been disappointed. “Abiogenesis” is a fully accomplished work, confirming the sound intelligence of Alibrandi, but also his taste for delicacy and minimalism. This is music to dance to, but also with an overwhelming, dark atmosphere, which can’t leave you unmoved. The track “Supernovae” is one of the cuts reminding me to the tribal side of Juno Reactor and that’s more than simply a reference!

– – – : I just regret the tracks are however a bit similar and the album is maybe missing an absolute ‘hit’!

Conclusion: “Abiogenesis” stands for an ultra-danceable fusion between different music styles, which are however characterized by darkness and energy!

Best songs: “Supernovae”, “Symbionts”, “Fusion”, “Chnops”, “Accretion Disk”, “Scattered Stardust”.
