German EBM act Massiv in Mensch mark 30 years with two new albums out August 28: “Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen” and a remix collection, both on CD.

German EBM and industrial duo Massiv in Mensch mark their 30th anniversary with two new albums arriving August 28: the studio album “Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen” and the fourth entry in their long-running remix series, “Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Part 4“. Both releases are confirmed on CD. Neither album has been listed for pre-order yet, and no further formats have been announced.

Massiv in Mensch’s ‘Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen’ arrives on CD August 28

“Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen” (German for “reminiscences and sequences”) is Massiv in Mensch’s new studio album. It follows a run of standalone 2026 singles from Daniel Logemann and Mirco Osterthun, including “Artificial Honey”, featuring Rouven Walterowicz of Endanger on additional vocals, on March 9, “Callanish” on April 23, and “Overdrive” on July 10.

Rob Dust, Kontrast and Schattenfrequenz remix on ‘Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Part 4’

“Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Part 4” continues the remix series Massiv in Mensch launched in 2009. The confirmed remixer list includes Rob Dust, Kontrast and Schattenfrequenz. Rob Dust, an EBM producer and remixer tied to Infacted Recordings, previously reworked the Massiv in Mensch and Rana Arborea single “Yearning” in 2024. Kontrast remixed the “Artificial Honey” single earlier in 2026 and has five earlier Massiv in Mensch remix credits on file, including “Freiheit?” and “Dunkle Gestalten”. Schattenfrequenz, a German EBM act behind recent singles such as “Feuer” and “Fading Signals”, is a new name in the remix series’ history.

About Massiv in Mensch

Daniel Logemann and Mirco Osterthun, from Varel in Lower Saxony, Germany, began making electronic music together in the early 1990s under other project names before officially launching Massiv in Mensch in 1996. Singer Sarah Folkens joined in 1998, the year the duo say they found their definitive sound, an EBM-rooted, technoid style they call “Dark Rave”. A self-released promo CD followed in 1999, and the debut album “Belastendes Material” arrived in 2000 on Wire Productions, reissued for the US and Canadian market by Artoffact Records in 2001, where it spent three weeks on the Alternative Charts.

“Die Rein” followed in 2002 and “Menschdefekt” in 2004, the latter reaching number 16 on the French Alternative Charts in January 2005. “Clubber Lang” (2006) became the project’s biggest chart success to date, climbing to number six on the Deutsche Alternative Charts, with singer Anna-Maria Straatmann and keyboardist Sebastian Schollenberger joining the live line-up. “Meanwhile Back in the Jungle” (2008) included the mind.in.a.box collaboration “Supermassive Gravity”. Massiv in Mensch launched their ongoing remix series with “Hands on Massiv – The Remixes” in 2009, followed by “Niemand weiĂź was die Zukunft bringt” (2010), “Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Vol. II” (2011), and the bundled “The Cortex Zero Effect” and “Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Vol. III” (2013).

The band signed to Swedish label Katyusha Records in 2017 and released “Am Port der guten Hoffnung”, which Side-Line reviewed as a move toward “classical” electro-pop with a German flavor. Massiv in Mensch returned in 2019 with the single “Badminton”, and in 2021 marked 25 years under the Massiv in Mensch name with the album “TĂĽrkis und Schwarz” and the compilation “1996-2021 – 25 Jahre – Best Of”. The album “H9” followed in 2023. Since late 2025 the duo have released a run of standalone singles, including “Artificial Honey”, “Callanish” and “Overdrive”, ahead of the 30th-anniversary releases “Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen” and “Hands on Massiv – The Remixes Part 4”, both due August 28.
