Background/Info: One more new (mini)-album for German prolific artist Sascha Lemon aka LPF12.
Content: This new work features 5 songs, which are mainly driven by the Cinematographic sound approach of the past few years. But LPF12 also moves back to an earlier period, which was mainly characterized by the IDM approach.
+ + + : My favorite tracks are the ones where you can hear a true and perfect osmosis between the different influences. You’ll even notice glitch elements running through “Closed Black Windows”. But the best cut is for sure “Kept You Out Of My Mind” for its intelligent sound treatments on top of the Cinematographic basis. The work has been accomplished by subtle arrangements and little sonic details.
– – – : I regret there are no other cuts as “Kept You Out Of My Mind”, which is the most elaborated and sophisticated one.
Conclusion: “A Clear Bright New Sky” sounds like the right exposure to illustrate the work of this artist.

LPF12 is the solo project of the German artist Sascha Lemon, who states on Bandcamp that he has made electronic music since 1992. The project self-releases a steady stream of digital albums and EPs spanning IDM, ambient and cinematic electronics.
Side-Line has reviewed the project since “Tranquil Heights” in 2018, followed by “An Integral Part Of Nothing” and “A Calm Heart Beating” (2019), “Black Flags Ahead”, “Million Mile Memory”, “The Weight Of Letting Go” and “A Violent Silence” (2020) and Poems For The Dark Matter in May 2021.
“A Clear Bright New Sky” was released on 3 February 2021 as a five-track download: “Keep You Out Of My Mind”, “Closed Black Windows”, “The Meaningless Debate”, “Kept You Out Of My Mind” and “Sorrow In Comfort Times”. Lemon wrote, performed, produced, recorded and mixed the material at the LPF12 studio in the winter of 2020-2021 and made the cover. Later releases reviewed on Side-Line include “Pending” (2022), Contours Of Stillness (2022), the “Cargo” EP (2023), tiltedStage and Burn The World Quietly (both 2024).
