Genre/Influences: Electro-pop.

Format: Digital, CD.

Background/Info: Insight is a solo-project set up by
Raúl Muñoz-Torrero Gálvez. After several singles and the album “A Light In The Darkness “(2016) we now get the new full length featuring ten songs.

Content: “A New Day” sounds as a ‘classic’ electro/dance-pop album from the Russian ScentAir label. All songs have been sung in English and are driven by danceable rhythms and carrying choruses. Some songs feature a few more sophisticated passages, but globally speaking this work sounds pretty familiar.

+ + + : The style doesn’t bring that much new, but I appreciate the efforts the artist has put in the global sound production of his work. Song-wise, most of the tracks reveal carrying and melodic passages with some elevating choruses. I mainly recommend “Last Goodbye”, which has been previously released as single.

– – – : Some of the ‘softer’ cuts like “The Perfect Ones” and “God Is In TV” can’t convince me at all. Insight sounds definitely more efficient with danceable kicks.

Conclusion: I think this is the kind of work that will appeal for all electro-pop fans in search of new discoveries.

Best songs: “Last Goodbye”, “Aching Heart”, “Cruel Life”.

Rate: (6½).
