Dark Minimal Project was originally a duo formed in 2021 by Guillaume “VDR” Vanderosieren and Ange Vesper. They soon became a trio when Peter Rainman (People Theatre) joined to handle arrangements, mixing, and production. After two self-released albums, the French project signed with Infacted Recordings to release Pleasure Is A Sin.

The influences on this album are primarily electro-pop, complemented here and there by a more powerful EBM edge. This results in a form of “power pop” that is both danceable and melodic. The songs feature both male and female vocals. Personally, I prefer Ange Vesper’s voice, which brings more emotion and sensuality to the music. The production is meticulously crafted, clearly showcasing Peter Rainman’s trademark expertise.

The album contains several very strong tracks, making it a highly successful release. (Rating:8).

About Dark Minimal Project

Dark Minimal Project is a French, Lille-based electro and synthwave act founded by Guillaume “VDR” Vanderosieren and Ange Vesper. The debut album “Cold Black Room” referenced Depeche Mode’s “Satellite”, and the group later expanded to a trio with People Theatre’s Peter Rainman handling arrangements, mixing, and production. The second album “Ghost Of Modern Times” followed, ahead of a “Remixes” set and an extended reissue of the debut. “Pleasure Is A Sin” is the project’s first release for Infacted Recordings.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
