Then Comes Silence, the Swedish post-punk trio, is back with a new single and video, “Ride Or Die”. This track not only marks their first release in nearly two years but also serves as a precursor to their seventh studio album, “Trickery”, scheduled for release on April 5, 2024, through Metropolis Records.

Much of “Trickery” is about friendship, unity and the feeling of belonging to a tribe, with the band explaining that “being a part of the post-punk and goth scene is a great privilege. After being on the road for so many years, we have experienced caring and welcoming audiences, both old and young, some with a similar background and some just for the love of the music and the culture that comes with the lifestyle. Uniting and harmonising with other people, we feel an incredible community together and it is a feeling that is both priceless and a blessing.”

The band, consisting of Alex Svenson, Jonas Fransson, and Hugo Zombie, delves into a blend of post-punk and gothic influences, with their music also touching on horror and the occult. Following a lineup change in 2022, Then Comes Silence embraced a trio format. The recording process of “Trickery” took place over three days in Kapsylen Studio in Stockholm, aiming to capture the essence of the band’s live prowess. The album’s production involved contributors such as Jörgen Wall and Tom Van Heesch, with mastering by Svante Forsbäck.

Here’s the video for the new single.

Why we ask

Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.
