The Medea Project ‘Komēn: Facets’: two takes on a Kharon track
Both tracks on the single rework “Purgatory: Trapped” from the 2025 album “Kharon.” The opener, “Purgatory Release,” was reimagined and remixed by Lucifer X of St. Lucifer, while “In Purgatory: Trapped” returns to an earlier incarnation of the song from the “Kharon” demos.

The release lands as the band prepares to play the Darker Days festival at The International in Leicester on June 27, 2026, a gothic weekender whose lineup includes The March Violets, Guillotine Dream and Salvation.
About The Medea Project
The Medea Project is led by Brett Minnie, who carried the project from South Africa’s east coast to the United Kingdom, where it is now based in Nottingham. Minnie rebuilt the band in England and began playing shows in 2017, recording a self-titled debut EP that year. The project became a duo with the addition of drummer and percussionist Pauline Silver.
The debut album “Sisyphus” arrived in 2020, followed by the EP “Reflections” in 2023 through Trepanation Recordings. The second album, “Kharon,” was released on June 20, 2025. In April 2026 the band issued the EP “Akkadian Artefacts,” a set of remixes by St. Lucifer’s Lucifer X, through BDB Productions. “Komēn: Facets,” released on June 26, 2026, continues that run and pulls the project further toward its dark ambient and electronica side.
