Genre/Influences: Industrial, electronic.

Format: Digital.

Background/Info: is an Australian project set up by producer Aaron Potter around 2011. After a first EP (cf. “Decision”) released in 2012 we’d to wait for 2020 to get new stuff from this project. The EP features two tracks plus one remix.

Content: “Dust” which might be considered as the title song is a somewhat raw piece of electronics driven by a rather slow rhythm and passionate vocals on top. The other cut (cf. “Believe”) is definitely softer and sounds as a B-side cut. We next get a remix of “Dust”, which has been seriously boosted and made for the dancefloor.

+ + + : “Dust” is a cool song, but especially the remix sounds great. It’s not only about the empowered rhythmic, but there’re some pretty cool sound arrangements reminding me of . I don’t want to compare both projects as it’s just about some sound treatments.

– – – : Two songs are not enough to get an idea about the potential of this project, but I hope to hear more from Sleepless Droids soon.

Conclusion: I especially recommend this work for the bouncing “Substance”-edit of “Dust”.

Best songs: “Dust (Substance)”.

Rate: (7).

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
