Background/Info: I remember this Australian solo-project driven by Aaron Potter from a previous work released a few years ago now. “I” features six new cuts.
Content: The sound and influences have evolved towards a harder, bouncing Techno-Industrial exposure. The tracks are featuring sampled vocal lines while you’ll also discover passages moving into a true Cinematic approach.
+ + + : Sleepless Droids took me by surprise achieving a tour de force which reminds me of sound guru Seb Komor. This is an elaborated production carried by strong bass lines, multiple effects and noises plus a constant power emerging from the heavy, danceable, kicks. “Night Stalker” and “Made Of Wires” both are my favorites for their devastating energy.
– – – : I’m missing a few more spoken samplings or even real vocal lines.
Conclusion: This is a great, modern, Industrial-Techno piece.

Sleepless Droids is an Australian project set up by producer Aaron Potter around 2011. A first EP, “Decision,” followed in 2012, then a second EP in 2020 led by the track “Dust.”
“I,” reviewed here, is the project’s third release, moving toward a harder, bouncing Techno-Industrial sound built on sampled vocal lines and cinematic passages.
