The English gothic rock act Sirens Of Light has just released their rendition of the Led Zeppelin track, “In The Evening”. The cover is now available across major digital platforms, including Bandcamp.

Andy J. Davies, the driving force behind Sirens Of Light, expressed his admiration for the song: “This is possibly Led Zeppelin’s finest work, yet it remains underrated. Our cover takes inspiration from the original studio recording and the iconic live performance at the 1979 Knebworth concert. I have a personal connection with this song, having listened to it live from my garden, too young to attend the concert itself.”

Originating from London, UK, Sirens Of Light emerged in the gothic rock scene in 2004. The band’s sound is a blend of early gothic rock influences and the London Goth and Glam scenes of the 80s and 90s. They draw inspiration from icons like Sisters Of Mercy, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Southern Death Cult, March Violets, Rose Of Avalanche, and Bauhaus.

Their debut album, “Nullus Magis Gothica,” was recorded in 2004 and saw a limited release in 2005. The lost original recordings were discovered in 2021, leading to a new, re-mixed version being released on November 8, 2022.

Below is the track for download on Bandcamp.

Since you’re here

we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
