About Richard Ramirez and Contagious Orgasm

Richard Ramirez is an American noise artist originally from Houston, Texas. He brings a mix of harsh noise wall, power electronics and drone and has been active since 1989. Besides the projects Black Leather Jesus and Werewolf Jerusalem he is also the founder of Deadline Recordings.

We previously mentioned Ramirez in the review of the Maurizio Bianchi / Coalminer + Allies album “Antimateria” (out via Grubenwehr Freiburg), where Coalminer’s collaborations included Richard Ramirez on the track “Gaping Crevism”.

Contagious Orgasm is the project of Hiroshi Hashimoto from Japan. Contagious Orgasm has been active since 1987 and brings a mix of experimental electronic music, including noise, industrial, rhythmic noise and ambient. Hiroshi Hashimoto also runs the SSSM label.

We previously covered the project when the Contagious Orgasm single “Through The Cracks Of Entrapment” was released on Ant-Zen.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
