About Religion of Heartbreak

Religion of Heartbreak was formed in 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri, by members of the post-punk project Monta at Odds seeking a darker, dance-floor focus. The original trio comprised Dedric Moore, Mikal Shapiro, and Krysztof Nemeth. The band debuted with the single “Dark Hour of Meditation” on August 9, 2024. It was followed by a remix release in September 2024 and the single “Dream Reflection” in December 2024.

The group issued the “Dream Reflection EP” on February 3, 2025, and returned with the single “Love Tourniquet” in June 2025. “100 Degrees” (August 15, 2025) precedes the “Lunate” EP on September 12, 2025.

Why we ask

Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.
