This EP is the result of a collaboration between two well-known figures from the German underground scene: Axel Kleintjes now active as Onenine (formerly involved with (Page 12, Cyber Axis, Cycloon, Mindware) and Myk Jung (best known as the vocalist of The Fair Sex). Kleintjes composed the music, while Jung contributed the lyrics and vocals. Production and mastering were handled by the members of Rotersand.

The title track—presented here in four different versions—ranges from a powerful Electro-Pop interpretation and a harder mix that recalls KMFDM to a short instrumental take and another version with a distinct Front Line Assembly flavor. Throughout every incarnation, Myk Jung’s deep, expressive voice remains a defining strength. The remaining two tracks feel more like B-sides; although instrumental, they are well produced and effectively complement the EP.

“Duress” presents a strong song from several different angles, with each version highlighting a different aspect of its character. The collaboration between Kleintjes and Jung proves to be more than promising, and I sincerely hope this is only the beginning of a fruitful partnership. (Rating:7).

About Onenine & Myk Jung

Onenine is the solo project of German musician Axel Kleintjes, formerly a member of Page 12, Cyber Axis, Cycloon and Mindware. Myk Jung is the vocalist of The Fair Sex, the German electro-wave and rock band founded in Essen in 1984. Kleintjes writes and produces as Onenine and has issued a run of digital releases, among them “Amorph”, “Formaldehyde”, “Xform” and “Zero”.

The “Duress” EP arrived on April 19, 2026 as a digital release. It gathers six tracks, including four versions of “Duress” alongside “Fixed” and “Examination”. Kleintjes constructed, recorded and produced the material at Noiselab, and Jung wrote and performed the vocals on “Duress”. The EP was completed with additional production by Gun and mastering by Wesenberg, both of Rotersand.

The EP is the first release to pair Onenine and Myk Jung, and it is available through Onenine’s Bandcamp page.
