LBWL – Crossed Parallels (Digital Mini-Album – Ant-Zen)
Does the name Lambwool ring a bell? LBWL is not only an abbreviation but also the latest project by French Electro artist Cyril Laurent. This release features 6 tracks that are nothing short of mesmerizing. LBWL delivers a warm, analog sound that immediately evokes a sense of 80s nostalgia. The music combines minimalism with an experimental edge, crafted through exceptional sound design. The tracks progress with slow, steady rhythms, making them accessible while gradually building to an irresistibly danceable climax. By the end, the songs lean toward IDM and even Techno, showcasing a seamless blend of genres. This is a brilliant and forward-thinking production -a glimpse of what visionary vintage-inspired music can achieve. About LBWL
LBWL is an alias of French musician Cyril Laurent, who has recorded since 2000 under the name Lambwool. Laurent started in the early 1990s in the Marseille metal band Moon Revolution and released the 1996 EP “French Kissin” as The Soul Lives in Berlin. Lambwool’s ambient and cinematic work cites Dead Can Dance, Tangerine Dream, Labradford, Brian Eno, and The Young Gods among its influences.
The Lambwool discography includes “Fading Landscapes” in 2005 and “…And The Angel Is Gone” in 2008 on Divine Comedy Records, “Mono” in 2009, “A Sky Through The Wall” in 2012, the Nicolas Dick collaboration “Post” in 2014, and “Vanish” in 2014 on OPN, the self-released albums “Islandi” in 2018 and “Isolation” in 2020, and “Ashes” in 2025 on Cyclic Law. The 2024 mini-album “Crossed Parallels” on ant-zen introduces the LBWL alias.
