Today we can offer you the exclusive full album stream of the new album by Killer Couture, “Everything Is Normal”. Killer Couture is an industrial band founded and based in Sacramento, CA. Though starting from influences such as Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Einstürzende Neubauten, and more, Killer Couture have fused synthesizers and sampling, scrap metal and drum machines, and guitars, to create an own sound.

You can check out “Everything Is Normal” right below and order it on Bandcamp. The album will be officially out on October 31st.

“Everything Is Normal”’s themes largely stem from the frustrations of the political upheaval of the time as well as mental health issues being exacerbated by quarantine. “The album challenges that there ever was a status quo to begin with. It also addresses the people who feel the need to try and uphold the illusion, and the psychic maelstrom of living in the true chaotic reality beneath the mask.”

About Killer Couture

The band formed in 2016 and started to perform live using of metal and power tools as instruments. In 2018, they self-released their first album “God Forgive The Children”, followed by 2019’s “What’s Left?”.

After the pandemic in 2020, unable to perform or write together, and post-departure of their third member, Killer Couture was forced to find a new way to survive. Writing music separately throughout the pandemic, the remaining duo (and original lineup) of Set Draven and Elliott Petrella were finally able to begin merging their ideas.

As soon as it was safe, with Set coming to San Francisco from Sacramento across several weekends, they began writing, editing, and tracking the demos for what would take shape as Everything Is Normal.

This is the first album to feature Elliott’s guitar-playing and songwriting skills, and also their first album to be mixed and recorded non-independently by Set, but instead, working with the post-punk and metal producer (and musician in his own right) Pat Hills, of Sacramento’s EarthTone Studios. It was through Pat that they came into contact with the Bay Area’s independent label Transylvanian Recordings.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
