Genre/Influences: Dark-ambient, experimental, cinematographic.

Format: Digital, CD.

Background/Info: Swedish Multi-instrumentalist Eriek Levander has already released multiple Productions, but now joined Forwind to release his first album on the German/Irish Forwind label. The album seems to be a kind of sonic exorcism about personal struggles and fights.

Content: The influences are multiple, but the global atmosphere hanging over the album has something pretty hostile. Heavy industrial blasts mixed with dark, anguishing sound waves are lead the listener into fright. Some passages have something monotonous, but is still intriguing by the injection of some electronic tones.

+ + + : The progression of the debut cut “Oförankrad” is really cool and I like the kind of orchestral arrangements this song has been made of. The production also has something overwhelming. Eriek Levander has found the right formula to build up his tracks, which crescendo wise are reaching an ultimate point of angst.

– – – : Some passages could be just a little bit more diversified. It’s an entertaining opus, but I got the impression there’s even more in this album.

Conclusion: “Inåt” is a dark composition, which sounds like ambient music made by industrial sounds and atmospheres.

Best songs: “Prövning”, “Tomhetens räckvidd”, “Oförankrad”.

Rate: (6½).
