Elektrus Erektus ‘Antabus-ooppera’: a suburban addiction tale
“Antabus-ooppera” continues the project’s descent into the shadowy corners of Finnish suburbia. Skithund Records describes the album as “a tale of addiction, failure, broken relationships and that stubborn Finnish optimism that is always the last thing to die.” Recurring characters Anneli and Peltonen return from earlier releases, their lives no easier than before, amid emptying beer cans, prescription drugs and the shadows of rehabilitation.
The music mixes cheap synthesizers, raw beats and rough-edged production, with vocals that move from laconic spoken word to desperate howling. The nine Finnish-language tracks include “Krokodil” and close with “Nappeja ja viinaa”. A preview of the record streams through the label’s SoundCloud ahead of the streaming release.

About Elektrus Erektus
Elektrus Erektus is a solo electronic project on Skithund Records, the DIY label based in Vaasa, Finland, that has operated since 1986. The label describes the act as “a middle-aged dad, out of whom hatches an ill-advised lizard king of suburban discos in the dark hours of the night,” built on “krautish psychoactive technoid sounds with dark and sultry grooves.”
The project’s recorded history runs back to the 2010 split 12-inch “World Manager / Elektrus Erektus”, followed by the digital releases “Moby Pig” (2011) and “Syntikkakosken mannekiini” (2013). The “LĂ€hiö” cassette arrived in 2018, with a digital “LĂ€hiö – 4 Track” edition in 2019 and “Elektrus Erektus ja Kaksi kalloa” in 2021. Elektrus Erektus has also worked with Alamaailma; Side-Line covered their joint single “Pakko on pyörittÀÀ” in June 2024.
“Antabus-ooppera” moves that catalogue onto the wider streaming platforms on 17 July 2026, released through Skithund Records and distributed by Playground Music Finland.
