Elektroklänge – Motorik (Album – Digital/CD – Alfa Matrix)

“Motorik” is the second album by Swedish electronic artist Elektroklänge. This album serves as a tribute to Kraftwerk’s legendary “Autobahn”, released 50 years ago. The music style is a nostalgic journey, featuring robotic, computerized voices reminiscent of the original “Autobahn”. Rather than covering the tracks, Elektroklänge has reimagined the essence of “Autobahn”, creating a sound that is both sweetly modern and masterfully produced. While the album embodies many familiar Electro clichés, it does so with a high level of craftsmanship. The standout track is the well-known and more intense “Bordcomputer,” which I consider the album’s absolute hit. The rest of the tracks, though enjoyable, tend to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, “Motorik” is a polished and commendable work. (Rating: 7½)

Why we ask
Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
