Berlin-based indie/electro-wave trio Dina Summer has just released their latest single, “Schall & Rauch” (translated as “Sound and Smoke”), marking the third preview from their sophomore album, “Girls Gang”, due out January 24, 2025, via Iptamenos Discos. The single features a fast-paced beat and melancholic, yet euphoric harmonies.

The track is part of a broader collection in “Girls Gang”, which explores diverse themes such as empowerment, outsiderhood, and impermanence. Previous singles from the album include “Halkidiki”, a dreamy track inspired by Greece, and “Alien”, a dancefloor-oriented track.

On Bandcamp the album will be completed with 11 tracks, 4 are now available.

The band, formed in 2020, is a collaboration between Kalipo (from electro-punk band Frittenbude) and dark-disco duo Local Suicide. Dina Summer’s previous work includes the 2022 album “Rimini”, which delved into retro disco influences, and the 2021 EP “Who Am I”.

Why we ask

Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.
