Devoratus, a darkwave band from Denver, Colorado, released the “Vacio” EP on 4 July 2026. The three-track record is sung in Spanish and English and is available to stream on Spotify. The title translates from Spanish as “empty” or “void.”
The EP’s three tracks are “Abismo oscuro,” “Dance” and “For You.” The songs move between Spanish titles and lyrics and English refrains, the bilingual approach the band has used since its first releases in 2023. Across the three tracks the band addresses isolation, desire, mortality and change.
Inside the Devoratus ‘Vacio’ EP
Devoratus records as a trio of Tomas on vocals, Aero on synths and Renee on bass, with Cisco adding live guitar. On “Vacio” the arrangements pair cold synth lines and heavy low end with guitar and forward-driving drums. The band released the EP without a label credit, as a digital release; no physical edition has been announced.
Musically the band can be compared to darkwave acts including Lebanon Hanover and She Past Away.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
