Dark Line Spectrum releases ‘Born To Wait’ single
Dark Line Spectrum’s “Born To Wait,” a dark industrial electro single first issued in 2023, reached Spotify on June 22, 2026 via Syn-Drone Record.
Dark Line Spectrum, the Bordeaux-based dark industrial electro project of Jean-Philippe Torres, known as Drone, has brought its single “Born To Wait” to Spotify, dated June 22, 2026. The track blends dark electro, darkwave and industrial influences and is issued through Syn-Drone Record, the Bandcamp label associated with the project’s promotional partner Syn-Drone Production.
‘Born To Wait’ crosses over from Bandcamp to streaming
“Born To Wait” first appeared on Bandcamp on June 20, 2023, credited to Jean-Philippe Torres under his Drone alias. Syn-Drone Production describes the track as exploring “waiting, the passing of time and resignation within the project’s signature cold and melancholic atmosphere.” Bandcamp’s own summary describes it as “the slow erosion of time, endless expectation, and the silent rebellion against a life spent waiting.” The Spotify release, dated three years after the Bandcamp original, brings the single to streaming for the first time under its June 22, 2026 date.
About Dark Line Spectrum
Dark Line Spectrum is a dark industrial electro (DIE) project based in Bordeaux, France, led by Jean-Philippe Torres under the name Drone, who also records as Vivid Atmosphere and Techny-call X. The project debuted with “Act One” in 2015. Lyrics and visual direction came from a collaborator known as Mildread until 2020, when Taxidermie joined to take over visual storytelling through VR pieces and exclusive videos.
In October 2020, Dark Line Spectrum released a cover of Joy Division’s “Atmosphere.” The album “Stolen Memory,” composed by Drone, followed in 2023, the same year “Born To Wait” first appeared on Bandcamp via the Syn-Drone Record imprint. Two further releases arrived in April 2025: “Stolen Memory (Reiteration)”, reviewed on Side-Line, and the companion set “Dark Line Spectrum REMIX.”
“Born To Wait,” now on Spotify as of June 22, 2026, marks the project’s first confirmed reissue to mainstream streaming platforms following its original Bandcamp release.
