Australian dark electro act Buzz Kull and Los Angeles-based project Kontravoid will co-headline a North American tour running from 10 September to 24 October 2026, announced on 8 July 2026. The Buzz Kull Kontravoid tour dates cover 27 shows across the United States and Canada, mixing darkwave, EBM, electro and synth-pop in clubs and festival settings. Five dates, in Spokane, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and Sacramento, add support from Spike Hellis and Normal Bias.

The pairing follows a run of overlapping credits between the two acts. Kontravoid remixed “In The Cut” for Buzz Kull’s EP “Deep Hate”, released 13 February 2026 through Heartworm Press with additional reworks by PIG, Cold Cave and Spike Hellis. Kontravoid’s own latest release is the single “Mortal”, issued 30 January 2026 on Artoffact Records, his first new material since the “Losing Game Remixes” EP in December 2024.

About Buzz Kull

Buzz Kull is the solo project of Sydney musician Marc Dwyer, also known as Marcel Whyler, active since 2012 with a sound the project has described as a cinematic blend of industrial darkwave, minimal synth and post-punk. Dwyer released the debut album “Chroma” on Burning Rose in 2017, followed by “New Kind Of Cross” on Funeral Party Records in 2018. He then moved to the Italian label Avant! Records for the single “Last in the Club” in late 2019 and the album “Fascination”, out 25 November 2022 on vinyl limited to 500 copies, a shift toward a club electro sound after the project’s earlier minimal wave material such as “We Were Lovers”. In February 2026 Buzz Kull signed to Michael Gira collaborator Caleb Braaten’s Heartworm Press and released the EP “Deep Hate”, a four-track set later expanded with remixes from PIG, Kontravoid, Cold Cave and Spike Hellis. The same month, Buzz Kull opened a West Coast US run for Cold Cave alongside Rosa AnschĂĽtz. Dwyer has toured Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia and has shared stages with Cold Cave, Boy Harsher, Kontravoid and Spike Hellis, contacts that carry into the 2026 North American dates with Kontravoid.

About Kontravoid

Kontravoid is the recording name of Cameron Findlay, a Canadian-born musician, drummer and producer based in Los Angeles. Findlay played drums for Crystal Castles in 2007 and 2008 and co-founded and co-wrote for the Toronto synth-pop band Parallels before leaving in 2011. He released Kontravoid’s self-titled debut album on Toronto label Pretty Pretty Records in February 2012, followed by the single “Native State” that July. The single “Undone” followed in 2018 on Berlin’s Fleisch Records, then “Too Deep” in 2019 and “Faceless” in 2021. Kontravoid signed to Artoffact Records for the album “Detachment”, released 1 March 2024, and the “Losing Game Remixes” EP that December. His latest release is the single “Mortal”, out 30 January 2026 on Artoffact Records. Findlay has toured with Boy Harsher, ADULT., Drab Majesty and Hide, and has remixed Schwefelgelb and Kris Baha, alongside his own rework of Buzz Kull’s “In The Cut” for “Deep Hate”. The 2026 North American tour puts him alongside Buzz Kull for the first extended joint run between the two acts.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
