Vox Umbra premiere video debut single ‘Cold Heart’ on Side-Line

Vox Umbra
Vox Umbra, a transcontinental darkwave duo based between Seattle (USA) and Amiens (France), will release the single “Cold Heart” with an accompanying video on October 24, 2025. But, today we can already give you the premiere of the video on Side-Line.
“Cold Heart” is a digital single (one track) paired with a video filmed on location in Lincoln Park (West Seattle) and in Amiens, France; the editing took place in Amiens. “’Cold Heart’”’ explores emotional distance, disconnection, and the difficulty of breaking through barriers between people,” the duo states. “The video mirrors that atmosphere — minimal light, a sense of separation, and the contrast of presence versus absence.”
Release teasers and behind-the-scenes clips reference the Seattle–France production and the October 24 premiere.
Musically the track blends darkwave and electronic elements with layered synths, driving drums and dual vocals. Composition began in Seattle (by Tiffany) and final production was completed remotely between the U.S. and France, with all parts recorded separately and mixed online.
About Vox Umbra
Vox Umbra formed in January 2025 as a duo comprising Tiffany (songwriter/producer/vocals; Seattle, USA) and Florian (vocals; Amiens, France). The project was conceived to work entirely online across two countries, which the artists say informs the music’s perspective on isolation and distance.
This “Cold Heart” single is the duo’s debut.
Chief editor of Side-Line – which basically means I spend my days wading through a relentless flood of press releases from labels, artists, DJs, and zealous correspondents. My job? Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Outside the news filter bubble, I’m all in for quality sushi and helping raise funds for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against the modern-day axis of evil.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
