French electronic producer Terence Fixmer has announced a new three-track EP titled “Magnetic North”, set for release on July 16 via NovaMute / Mute. Ahead of the release, Fixmer has unveiled a remix of “Evolve” by German techno artist Marcel Dettmann.

The remix reworks one of the key tracks from Fixmer’s latest album “The Paradox in Me” – Fixmer’s second album for Mute / NovaMute – and will be included on the upcoming EP. “Magnetic North” will also feature a remix of “Another End” by German DJ Oliver Rosemann, founder of the Recorded Things imprint, and a new title track that Fixmer says “serves as a bridge between ‘The Paradox in Me’ and the sound of my future album, which will be more techno, and hypnotic with raw sounds.”

Fixmer comments: “Marcel chose ‘Evolve’ to remix, he always likes tracks when I put my voice to it. I love the way it starts with a dubby direction, before developing into electronic club sequence and bringing on the voice. Marcel is so creative, it’s an honour to share this remix.”

The remix is part of a larger release schedule for Fixmer. An extended edition of “The Paradox in Me” will also arrive on July 16, featuring three additional tracks: “In Synthesis (Vocal Mix)”, “Razor Sharp (Version Two)”, and “Close to You (Live Version)”.
