Available now on digital through the San Francisco-based label Broken Clover Records, is the digital compilation “BCR Clippings #1” holding torpedo’s brand new single “Hope / Dream”. The track comes a couple of months after releasing their sophomore album “Orpheo_ Nebula”.

Founded in 2016 in the city of Lausanne, torpedo was then made up of Carole Obère, on vocals and guitar, Jérôme Diserens, on bass and keyboard, and machines as only companions. The group draws its energy from its beginnings in an industrial, post-apocalyptic and rough universe approaching no-wave and kraut with a touch of punk.

In 2018, when conceiving their first album in a remote collaboration with Antoine Pfammatter on drums, the duo hid in a small house on the Irish west coast. It was there that torpedo recorded their first album “Sphynx”. Self-produced, it was released in April 2019. Two months earlier, the duo met the Dutch drummer Andries Hannaart and became a trio.

Why we ask

Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.
