(Photo by Holy Smoke) Sleek Teeth is a Los Angeles, California-based dark electronic duo. They now present their self-titled debut EP.

The EP is a five song collection – and can be downloaded from Bandcamp – of which the band says: “It wasn’t a conscious decision, but there are threads of undefined surroundings and unknown destinations woven throughout the EP. There’s a sense of mystery, like not knowing what’s out there in the dark, but if you want to move forward you have to make that leap and deal with whatever comes. The songs aren’t so much an attempt to come up with answers as they are a raw expression of the struggle itself, and we think there’s a kind of resolution to be found in that.”

Sleek Teeth launched onto the LA music scene with their debut single, “Gone”, along with a cinematic music video featuring a dystopian narrative. The EP holds the single “Endless” that goes accompanied by a music video featuring a mysterious journey into the unknown. Next there is “Operating”, a song all about what you see isn’t always what you get. The 3 other tracks are “Gone”, “Powerless” and “Sanctuary”.

The duo made its live debut at the legendary Das Bunker in Los Angeles in 2024, and are slated to play the LA darkwave music festival Substance in November.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
