Slava Bogu, a post-punk duo from Rome, Italy, have self-released their debut album “Canzoni private” (“Private Songs”). The record came out on 7 June 2026 as an independent, DIY release and is available on Bandcamp.

“Canzoni private” gathers the duo’s early recordings and first experiments into a self-released debut. The pair, who go by Tonino and BJ, describe their music as experimental punk, post-punk and experimental pop, and name The Cure, Joy Division, Xiu Xiu and Scott Walker as reference points. The release follows a short tour through Prague and Berlin, and the duo has played Rome venues including Fanfulla 5/A and Forte Prenestino, with further Eastern European dates planned.

About Slava Bogu

Slava Bogu is a two-piece based in Rome, Italy, working in post-punk and experimental pop. The project performs and records independently and built its early reputation on the city’s underground circuit before issuing “Canzoni private”, its first record, in June 2026. The duo’s stated influences run from The Cure and Joy Division to Xiu Xiu and Scott Walker, and the album is its first to reach listeners beyond its live audience.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
