About Model M
Model M is the musical project of Terrence Clinton Dick, currently based in Los Angeles, California. Dick was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and began working in music in the early 1990s at Vancouver studios including Little Mountain Sound and Vancouver Studios, where he contributed to post-production and sound design. He relocated to Toronto in 1994 and started Model M that same year, building the project from home recording using sampling techniques and layered electronic production.
His self-description places the project across drum and bass, industrial, and electrometal, with an emphasis on high-energy, textural electronic music that incorporates guitars and heavy bass. Dick has described his approach as drawing on personal experience and maintaining a distinct voice outside mainstream trends.
Model M releases through Oh Just Peachy Studios, the music collective Dick operates with DEROSNEC and other collaborators. The discography includes “Freedom From Want” (2005), “Letters to Jesus” (2007), “The Eagle” (2011), the single “Thunder” featuring DOGHOUSE (2016), the “Brittle” EP (2020), the “Evil” EP (2021), and the “City” EP (April 2026). “Devilish” is among the tracks connected to recent 2026 activity.
