Glis, the electronic music project founded by the Seattle, Washington-based artist Shaun Frandsen in 2001, makes a comeback in 2024 with the release of “Gateway To Oblivion” to be released in late May. “Gateway To Oblivion” brings a blend of industrial with future pop. This is Glis’ first new album since “Phoenix” (2013) and enters in the footsteps of the earlier released singles “Sunrise Forever” (2023) and “Control” (2024)12.

Frandsen served as the primary producer, vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist for this releases assisted by Sebastian Komor who helped shaping the album’s sound, ensuring a cohesive production. Note that Frandsen’s old partner in crime Jennifer Parkin from Ayria appears on “Dream Chaser”.

Thematically, “Gateway To Oblivion” revolves around the ascension of mankind and the challenges posed by technology, with each song tackling specific themes.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
