Duophonic Noise Construction – Distorted Reality (Digital/CD Album – Meshwork)
Duophonic Noise Construction is a very special project led by Sevren Ni-Arb (X Marks The Pedwalk) and his son, LMX. Last year, two singles were released as a preview, and now the full album is out, featuring 11 tracks. Father and son collaborated on both the composition and vocals.
The style of this German project is a fusion of what both artists bring from their respective musical backgrounds. However, the dark, raw sound unmistakably harks back to the early days of XMTP. The drum sections are highly dynamic and somewhat unconventional, leaning more toward LMX’s approach. The result is a dark, danceable soundscape that occasionally evokes Front Line Assembly. The tracks hit hard—especially the well-known singles “Always” and “Trauma”—but several other songs also shine, with strong choruses that stand out. For me, “Privacy” is the absolute masterpiece.
This is, in my opinion, a highly successful collaboration between two complementary musicians—one that I hope will continue. Fans of XMTP’s earlier work are likely to be very satisfied. (Rating:8).

Duophonic Noise Construction is a dark electro project launched in 2024 by Sevren Ni-Arb, founder of X Marks The Pedwalk, together with his son LMX. The pair previously worked together when Sevren Ni-Arb produced LMX’s 2022 release “Habits & Addictions”.
The project introduced itself with the singles “Always” and “Trauma” before the full-length debut, “Distorted Reality”, released April 25, 2025 on Meshwork Music. The 11-track album is available on CD and as a digital download.
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
