About DisX3
DisX3 is one of several aliases used by German techno producer Alexander Kowalski, born in 1978 in Greifswald. Kowalski moved to Berlin in the early 1990s, where he was exposed to techno music and cited Joey Beltram and Synewave among his early influences. He played his first live show at the Tresor club in Berlin before releasing his first track on Proton Records in 1999, the same year he debuted as DisX3 with the “Auto Cycles” EP.
Under his own name, Kowalski released the albums “Echoes” (2001) and “Progress” (2002) on the Kanzleramt label, followed by “Response” (2003), “Changes” (2006), and “Cycles” (2018). As DisX3 he issued the albums “Brothers in Mind”, “Sequenzed Function”, and “Untitled” in 1999, followed by “Chaos Space Marines” with Bandulu in 2001. Kowalski also records as D Func and, together with Torsten Litschko, as Double X. “Infected Frequencies” on SE Records marks a further DisX3 release within that discography.
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
