Australian musician David Thrussell has issued “The Reign Of Dead Matter“, a ritual and ambient LP, on the German label Ant-Zen. The record is available for pre-order on the label’s Bandcamp page as a limited edition, and is the latest in Thrussell’s run of releases for Ant-Zen, the home of his Black Lung project since 1999.
‘The Reign Of Dead Matter’: recording and format
The album was recorded live in private concert at the Melbourne Lodge of the Theosophical Society at midnight on December 21, 2025.
The LP is issued as a strictly limited edition pressed in multiple splatter versions, with each copy described as unique.
About David Thrussell
David Thrussell is an Australian musician active since 1988, creating a mix of dark ambient, industrial, electro-industrial, EBM and IDM music. He is a founding member of Snog and Soma and records solo conspiracy-themed material as Black Lung. Since 1999, nearly all Black Lung releases have appeared on Ant-Zen, including “The Grand Chessboard” (2004), “The Coming Dark Age” (2005) and “Full Spectrum Dominance” (2009).

In 2023 we reported on the 30th anniversary remastered edition of “Lies Inc.”, the debut Snog album, and in 2024 published an interview with Black Lung. His recent Ant-Zen output includes the 2025 vinyl release “Eros Maximus” and a 2025 collaboration with Flint Glass on Lovecraft-inspired material. “The Reign Of Dead Matter” is out under his own name.
