Crystal Geometry – Red Faith Militia (Vinyl 12” – Sonic Groove)
Genre/Influences: Techno, techno-EBM.
Background/Info: Crystal Geometry is one of Sonic Groove’s latest signings. This project is hailing from Grenoble (France), which if I’m not fault is the town of The Hacker!
Content: “Red Faith Militia” is mixing techno music and retro EBM. The production is characterized by heavy sound blasts and solid techno beats. There also is a cold flavor hanging over the work, which is accentuated by now screaming vocals and then robotic vocals.
+ + + : Crystal Geometry is another project bringing a truly sonic fusion between techno- and alternative electronic music. This production is clearly driven by efficient and well-crafted EBM elements. The sound production is absolutely impressive and the four (different) cuts are pure dancefloor killers! “Appropriating The Means Of Production” is a real class act!
– – – : I don’t see any minus point, here, this EP being a true masterpiece!
Conclusion: There’re great releases and there’re releases you simply can’t forget! “Red Faith Militia” doesn’t innovate, but the production is simply close to perfection. This is an artist to keep an eye on and I’m eagerly awaiting his next work.
Best songs: “Appropriating The Means Of Production”, Coldest October”, “Social Injustice”, “Submission”.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
