Anarchotech – Origin Stories (Album – Digital/CD – Hands)

Based in Chicago (USA), Anarchotech is the solo project of Rob Boyle, also known as DJ Sprite. His debut album, released by the renowned label Hands, feels like the perfect match for his intense, hard-hitting sound. Boyle takes us on a fierce, relentless sonic journey, where Rhythmic-Noise collides with Industrial-Techno. Amid the intensity, there are moments of restraint, with a quieter, more minimalistic track offering a brief reprieve. “Origin Stories” features 7 original tracks, along with 2 standout remixes by iVardensphere and The Boundless. It’s a powerful and promising debut. (Rate:8).

About Anarchotech
Anarchotech is the solo project of Chicago-based producer Rob Boyle, who has been active in the city’s underground electronic scene since the early 2000s under the DJ Sprite moniker, co-founding one of the city’s first regular rhythmic noise nights. As Anarchotech, Boyle blends distorted rhythms with themes of transhumanism and technological subversion. “Origin Stories”, issued by Hands in 2024, is his debut album under the Anarchotech name.

Why we ask
Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
