UK synthrock trio Agency-V have released their debut album “Never Meant To Be” today via Distortion Productions. The album is available on digital and streaming platforms, as well as a limited-edition CD.

“Never Meant To Be” compiles the band’s earlier material alongside new additions, including bonus remixes and a cover of Garbage’s “Stupid Girl”. The band is composed of Marie Williamson (vocals), Lloyd Price (synths, programming), and Peter Steer (guitars). Their sound blends dark synth textures and driving rock elements, drawing inspiration from artists such as Gary Numan and Kraftwerk.

About Agency-V

Agency-V was formed in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown in the United Kingdom. The original lineup consists of Marie Williamson, Lloyd Price, and Peter Steer. The band’s founding purpose was to merge synth-driven rock with darker lyrical themes reflecting personal and societal tensions.

Their debut EP “No Divide” was self-released digitally in 2020. In 2024, the band self-released the single “We Can Erase You” and the EP “Pray For The Sun”. Their performances that year included a number of UK live dates, culminating in a support slot for Gary Numan.

“Never Meant To Be”, released in July 2025 via Distortion Productions, marks their first full-length release for the band on a label, combining remastered earlier material with new remixes and cover versions. As of July 2025, the lineup remains Marie Williamson, Lloyd Price, and Peter Steer.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
