Background/Info: Vidéo L’Eclipse is a Swedish Electro-Pop duo drivenby Robert Tingelöf and Jonas Peterson. After having released a few digital singles they this year self-released the debut album “Predicts”.
Content: “Predicts” smells like good-old Synth-Pop music featuring numerous vintage elements and effects. The songs have something melancholic, but also carried by melodic sequences. Some passages of the work are moving into a dreamy sensation. A few tracks feature female backing vocals. Three previous singles of the band are still featured on this album.
+ + + : This band doesn’t innovate, but has accomplished a mature production of well-crafted songs. I like the vintage approach revealing great sweeps and retro melody lines. The grave timbre of the voice has something charismatic. Both last songs, but especially “Just In Case” are beautiful productions. The piano arrangements running through this song have something elevating while I also enjoyed the female backing vocals at the final part of the song. Last, but not least I also have to say a word about the cool, styled artwork of the front cover.
– – – : Eight songs isn’t that much for an album, but here again it has something pretty old-styled –reminding me of 80s vinyl album featuring 4 tracks on each side. I’m also missing a few extra catchy elements in the global production.
Conclusion: “Predicts” is a rather accomplished and promising debut album from a band we’ve to keep an eye on. The album is out on the Vidéo L’Eclipse Bandcamp page.

Vidéo L’Eclipse is a synthpop duo from Stockholm, Sweden, formed by Robert Tingelöf and Jonas Peterson. The band self-releases its music through Bandcamp.
The first digital singles, “Overmann” and “Luna”, appeared in 2019, followed by “Just In Case” in 2020. All three songs were included on the debut album “Predicts”, released on 19 March 2021 on CD and as a download. The eight tracks are “My Enemy”, “We Predict”, “Two Minutes”, “Luna”, “Beyond Poetry”, “From A Window”, “Overmann” and “Just In Case”. In 2021 the duo also appeared on the compilation “2011-2021 – Swedish Electro Scene – The Compilation” and on “Generation Blitz (Dusk To Dawn)”.
Later releases listed on Discogs and Bandcamp are the EPs “Signals” (2022) and “Almost There” (2023), the CDr album “Unpredicted” and “Begin – Repress – Depart” (both 2024), a 2025 reissue of “Just In Case” and the single “Mercury Kiss”. “Predicts” remains the duo’s first album.
