Background/Info: No Part Of It welcomes Sterile Garden for its newest work entitled “Acidosis”. Set up in 2006 by Jacob Deraadt, Sterile Garden has released an impressive number of productions on very different labels. This is the first work released by No Part Of It.
Content: The artwork on the front cover is a kind of collage featuring terror and nudity. This aspect is also pretty symbolic for the sound of the project, which Deraadt calls himself ‘collage’. A true collage of very different, harsh noises, Industrial sound treatments and field recordings. The work sounds like pure improvisation while the darkness of the production feels like announcing a nearby disaster. The album features 6 untitled tracks.
+ + + : Noise can be controlled becoming more accessible than the familiar, heavy and uncontrolled Noise outbursts. Even if the work ends in a kind of noise apocalypse, the main part of the work also has something Industrial and even Ambient-like. Sterile Garden mixed it all into a kind of improv performance reaching its climax on the fourth cut.
– – – : The fragmented approach of the work, which can be defined as sonic collage has something of pure sound –or noise, anarchy and has something disjointed. But no doubt about it, that’s precisely the main goal of this kind of production.
Conclusion: “Acidosis” will bring you a heavy load of extreme music although I think the term ‘music’ is impropriate for this production; this is an abstract approach of music where noises are more important than classical song structures.

Sterile Garden was begun in winter 2006 by Jacob DeRaadt. At different points members have included Sean Devlin, David Mead, Erik Wangsvick and Joseph Yonkers; the project is currently DeRaadt’s solo vehicle.
