Silke Bischoff unveil music video for previously unreleased title track ‘Tears’
Silke Bischoff release a music video for “Tears”, the previously unreleased title track of their compilation, out September 25, 2026 on Dependent Records.

German dark wave act Silke Bischoff have released a music video for “Tears“, the previously unreleased title track of their forthcoming compilation “Tears – A Collection of Silke Bischoff Songs”. The video is out now on YouTube. The compilation, announced in June, arrives via Dependent Records of Germany on September 25, 2026 in Europe and October 2, 2026 in North America, an update on the September 4 date given at the original announcement.
“Tears” is built from an archive recording that features the vocals of the band’s late co-founder, Felix Flaucher. Axel Kretschmann explains the track’s origin: “First, we unearthed this track, then we diligently listened to it, and finally we decided to reconstruct it piece by piece.” Of the video, shot with dolls sourced by production company wieglas, Kretschmann adds: “Ronny Zeisberg from the production company wieglas found a doll. This inspired us, and more and more dolls were added. The production lasted month and I had started to consider becoming a doll repairer. Well, now you can see for yourselves how it all turned out.”
The compilation is also available to pre-order on Spotify. It gathers 14 remastered catalogue tracks alongside “Tears” and follows the band’s May 2026 catalogue deal with Dependent Records, the first step in returning the group’s back catalogue to circulation.
About Silke Bischoff
Silke Bischoff were founded in 1990 in Germany by Axel Kretschmann and Felix Flaucher as a gothic and dark wave project, taking their name as an artistic memorial to the 18-year-old hostage killed during the 1988 Gladbeck hostage crisis. The self-titled debut album followed in 1991, after three two-track demo tapes and the club track “I Don’t Love You Anymore”. Guitarist Frank Schwer joined for the second album, “The Man on the Wooden Cross” (1993), and the band continued with “To Protect and to Serve” (1995) and “Northern Lights” (1996) before Kretschmann’s departure in 2002.
Felix Flaucher died on August 22-23, 2017, an event Side-Line reported at the time. Kretschmann revived Silke Bischoff on stage at the 2025 Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, joined by guest appearances from Deine Lakaien’s Alexander Veljanov and Sven Friedrich. The band’s catalogue deal with Dependent Records, announced in May 2026, set up the “Tears” compilation, whose title track and accompanying video mark the first new Silke Bischoff release since the band’s recordings went out of circulation.
