Rotersand release ‘Sexiness Of Slow’ single ahead of new album ‘Don’t Become The Thing You Hated’

Rotersand
The German dark electro-pop duo Rotersand have today released “Sexiness Of Slow“, a new single issued through Metropolis Records in North America and Trisol Music Group for the rest of the world. The track is the second single from the duo’s forthcoming album “Don’t Become The Thing You Hated”, set for release on 8th August 2025.
“Sexiness Of Slow” is a slow-burning electronic track blending dense beats and atmospheric synths. The band characterizes the track as “an exploration of desire and tension in an electronic framework, designed for the dancefloor.”

The upcoming album, titled “Don’t Become The Thing You Hated”, marks their return with what the band describes as “a cultural critique wrapped in dark, danceable electronics.”

About Rotersand
Rotersand was formed in Hamburg, Germany in 2002 by vocalist Rascal Nikov and producer Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg. The band originally combined industrial and electro-pop influences with a socially conscious lyrical focus.
They signed with Dependent Records in the early 2000s, where they released albums such as “Truth is Fanatic” (2003) and “Welcome To Goodbye” (2005).
After several years of sporadic releases, they signed with Trisol Music Group for Europe and Metropolis Records for North America. The duo’s 2016 album “Capitalism TM” explored political and societal themes.
As of 2025, Rotersand consists of its founding members Rascal Nikov (vocals) and Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg (programming, production).
Chief editor of Side-Line – which basically means I spend my days wading through a relentless flood of press releases from labels, artists, DJs, and zealous correspondents. My job? Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Outside the news filter bubble, I’m all in for quality sushi and helping raise funds for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against the modern-day axis of evil.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
