German industrial rock band Jesus on Extasy have today (11 July 2025) released their new single “Soul Crusher” via Metropolis Records. The track is a preview from their forthcoming album “Between Despair And Disbelief,” scheduled for release on 12 September 2025.
Available as a digital single, “Soul Crusher” is accompanied by an official video and streaming links. The new album is available for pre-order via Bandcamp.
Frontman Dorian Deveraux explains that the single “is a post-breakup song dealing with the feeling of reality kicking in after you’ve basically mourned the loss of a loved one. You start to see them for what they really are and you start wondering if any of it was even real or if you’ve been gaslighted all along. I’d be lying (mostly to myself) if I told you the song isn’t autobiographical. It was written in the aftermath of a pretty dark period in my life and was an outlet to deal with the trauma.”
“Soul Crusher” follows the 2023 single “Wide Awake” and 2024’s “Days Gone By”, both bringing a heavier and more aggressive sound. Deveraux adds, “It looks like the world is going to hell. We might as well deliver the soundtrack for that.”
The band will tour Europe with Die Krupps in September 2025, featuring songs from the new album alongside reworked versions of earlier material.
About Jesus on Extasy
Jesus on Extasy was founded in Germany in 2005 by Dorian Deveraux and Chai Deveraux. Originating from Essen, the band initially aimed to blend industrial rock with dark electronic influences. The band signed with Drakkar Entertainment in 2006. Their debut album “Holy Beauty” (2007) was followed by “Beloved Enemy” (2008). They later released “No Gods” (2010) before entering an extended hiatus.
After several years of inactivity, Dorian Deveraux revived the band in the 2020s. The single “Wide Awake” in 2023 marked their return, followed by “Days Gone By” in 2024 after signing with Metropolis Records. As of 2025, Jesus on Extasy consists of Dorian Deveraux (vocals) and additional live musicians for touring.
