CYLiX – Beta Life (Digital/CD Album – Scanner / Dark Dimensions)

The Greek trio CYLiX returns 15 years after their debut album “Alpha” with its successor, “Beta Life”. In the meantime, the group has joined the ranks of the renowned Scanner label and now presents an album featuring 12 tracks.
CYLiX delivers a well-crafted blend of Electro-Pop. The music strikes a balance between melancholic moments and uplifting, feel-good elements, all driven by solid, danceable beats. The vocals are also well-produced—an essential component for this genre.
Beta is a strong album with several standout tracks, though it may lack a definitive high point or climactic moment. (Rating:7).

About CYLiX
CYLiX is an electropop trio from Athens, Greece, consisting of PlasmaG (synths, guitars, programming), Harry (vocals, programming) and Ilias (drums). The band released its debut album, “Alpha,” in December 2010 via Life Is Painful Records, distributed by Nova Media and mastered by Len Lemeire (32Crash, Implant), with two bonus remixes by Lights of Euphoria and Psyche. CYLiX performed as headliners at the Moritzbastei stage of Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig in May 2012.
Fifteen years after “Alpha,” CYLiX has joined the Scanner label and released its follow-up album, “Beta Life,” a twelve-track set of Electro-Pop.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
